Private Partnership in ISRO
New Delhi: Indian Space Research Organisation is looking forward to consolidate its partnership with the industry to produce launch vehicles and communication satellites.
Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is making focussed efforts to consolidate and enhance the participation of Indian Industry in the production of Polar Satellite Launch Vehicles, Communication Satellite and related subsystems. It is envisaged that the industry will have enhanced contribution towards the production of standardised components as well as integrated system/subsystems through an appropriate consortium, while ISRO could concentrate more towards cutting edge research and development activities.
India’s Mars Orbiter Mission had participation from numerous private firms for supply of various items/systems like composite systems, antenna subsystems, propulsion subsystems, optical payload subsystems, inertial sensor subsystems, electronic components including wires & cables, printed circuit boards etc. Some of the private firms, who supplied these components, include M/s Godrej, M/s Walchandnagar Industries, M/s Larsen & Toubro, M/s General Optics Asia Limited, M/s Sri Venketeswara Industries, M/s Micropack, M/s Sanghvi, M/s Tata Advanced Material Limited, M/s Lakshmi Tool Engineering, M/s Technocom, M/s Balco etc.
The participation of private firms in India’s Mars Orbiter Mission has significantly contributed in timely realization of the mission. This information was given by the Minister of State in the Ministry of Personnel, PG & Pensions and in the Prime Minister’s Office Dr. Jitendra Singh in a written reply in the Lok Sabha today.
