Sant Baba Balbir Singh Seechewaal Ji visited the NSW parliament

Sant Baba Balbir Singh Seechewaal Ji visited the NSW parliament house on 8th May 2014 and had a meeting with the NSW Environment Minister The Hon Rob Stokes and Hon Geoff Lee Member for Parramatta. Baba Ji described the projects that he has undertaken with the help of the communities around the world to generate the awareness about the environment, clean and safe water, food and other natural resources in India's state of Punjab. He is a noted environment crusader and social reformer that has worked tirelessly to generate the awareness as well as clean up the rivers and natural water sources in Punjab and Haryana. Min Rob Stokes appreciated the work and efforts done by Baba Ji and commended him for his immense contribution to environment. Hon Geoff Lee MP also appreciated his work to provide free education and other social projects to help the communities. He recollected about his recent visit to Punjab and appreciated the tenets of Sikhism and its teachings that are about the preservation and conservation of the natural resources as well as social development. Baba Ji emphasised on the social development and the importance of the clean environment. He acknowledged his team in Australia accompanied by Sukhjinder Pal Singh, Balbir Singh Billing, Amarinder Bajwa, John Niven, and Manjit Thind. Baba Ji later attended the celebrations of Vaisakhi in NSW parliament organised by Punjabi Council of Australia. Dr Moninder Singh and his team of Punjabi Council of Australia acknowledged and presented a plaque to commemorate visit of Baba Ji to Sydney Australia. The event was well received in the community and attended by many MP’s from both sides of politics. Consul General of India in Sydney His Excellency Sanjay Sudhir also acknowledged Baba Ji’s work in Punjab and appreciated his efforts to improve the environment. Speaking at the occasion the Leader of Opposition Hon John Robertson MP stressed upon the major achievements and contributions made by Sikhs in his electorate and how proud he is on the community. Hon Kevin Connolly MP representing the Premier Hon Mike Baird MP also acknowledged the contribution of the Sikh community in Australia. Speaking at the event Baba Ji impressed the gathering with his words of wisdom and stressed upon the need for everyone to recognise the plights of pollution and contribute in every way to help the mother earth and help save the water.
