Later Prime Minister Modi accompanied by his Japanese counterpart, visited various facilities in the prominent robotics firm FANUC in Yamanashi. Both the leaders had a meeting at Mr Abe's villa in Yamanashi. They will return to Tokyo in the night by the Express Train Kaiji.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the automation major FANUC, comes in the backdrop of both the countries moving forward in conducting joint research and development in the cutting edge technology. They are also moving forward in cooperating in the fields of emerging areas like Internet-of-Things and Big Data.
The personal chemistry between PM Modi and Mr Abe has been visible, in the cordiality with which both the leaders of the major Asian economies had informal interactions in Yamanashi. The growing engagement by both the countries in Indian economy is visible and palpable in the active involvement of Japan in almost all the Metro rail projects in Indian cities. The relations between the two are set to get elevated further with Prime Minister Modi’s current visit. PM Modi’s official engagements including the 13th Bilateral Summit with Japan will be held tomorrow, on the final day of the tour.
