The Saraksha Kavach application of Rajkot police dedicated for their internal work application right and use are strictly restricted to Rajkot Police Personal has received Police Excellence Award in Delhi. These Excellence Award was handed over to Gujarat Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Rupani today in a stage program organized at Rajkot for dedication of various developmental works. The Awards was handed over by Rajkot Police Commissioner Mr. Manoj Agarwal. On the occasion Rajkot Police briefed Mr. Rupani about the features of the application and a presentation detailing the 25 percent reduction in crime in the last two years was presented.
Chief Minister of the state Mr. Vijay Rupani inaugurated various projects in Rajkot that are worth a total of Rs.17.12 crores. He dedicated library that was built at a cost of Rs.5.27 crores and Shri Samrat Primary School No.49 built at a cost of Rs.80 lakhs and the Mother Teresa Primary School No.88 built at a cost of Rs.75 lakhs. The CM also performed ground breaking ceremonies for various projects that included a Community Hall which will be built at a cost of Rs.8.51 crores, the Kasturba Gandhi Vidyalaya which will be built at a cost of Rs. 139 lakhs and a building worth Rs. 42.07 lakhs for Shri J.J Pathak School.
During the event, Mr. Rupani praised the efforts of the Rajkot Municipal Corporation in ensuring the well-being of its people by providing modern facilties and amenities through Smart City Project, solar energy etc. The CM also announced that the Mavdi Chowk Bridge in Rajkot will be named as the Atal Bihar Vajpayee Bridge. The library will be called Shri Babubhai Vaidya Library after Mr. Babubhai who was a leading figure in education and literature in the 60s. The CM also talked about the government’s mission to fill 115 dams of Saurashtra with the waters of Narmada. This decision will solve the problem of potable water for people in the region. M.P Mr. Mohanbhai Kundariya, MLAs Mr. Govindbhai Patel, Mr. Lakhabhai Saagathiya, Chairman of Gujarat Municipal Finance Board Mr. Dhansukhbhai Bhanderi and various other officials in addition to a large number of people were present during the event.
Rupani struck with nostalgia
Chief Minister of the state Mr. Vijay Rupani was struck with nostalgia as he performed the ground breaking ceremony at Shri Jayalakshmi Jatashankar Primary School No.19 in Rajkot. It was this very school where Mr. Rupani studied from standard 3rd to standard 5th. The CM did the ground breaking ceremony for 4 rooms that will be built at a cost of Rs.40.07 lakhs. Even today, one can find the records of Mr. Rupani in the school register with the details: S.No: 3464, Name: Vijaykumar Ramniklal Rupani, D.O.B: 7/9/1963, Place of Birth: Rangoon.
Being overwhelmed by going to the place where important values of life were learnt, Mr. Rupani said, “We must act as responsible citizens and pay our debt to the society and its institutions which have been instrumental in taking us to great heights.”
Shri Jayalakshmi Jatashankar Primary School No.19 was established in the year 1950 and got its own building in the year 1956. The school has completed 75 years and its present strength is 122. The school has its own computer lab and a laboratory as well.
Principal of the school Mrs. Bhartiben Patel expressed immense happiness to see a student of the very school become the Chief Minister of the state. She felt a sense of pride and wished that there should be more students like Mr. Rupani.
A number of famous personalities like the Gujarati film heroine Jayshree T. and famous people of Rajkot like Dr. Subodhkumar Mangeshram Korgavkar, Mr. Mavjibhai Bhagwanbhai Dodia etc have studied from the same school. The school is a standing witness to women empowerment. Its first student was a girl named Ms. Ranjanbala Bhanushankar Vyas.
