- Ahmedabad: Ramakrishna Math will be set up in Ahmedabad for Philanthropic Mission. Taking over ceremony of proposed Math will be held on 30th May, 2018 at Sindhu Bhavan, Ahmedabad in presence of Shri Vijaybhai Rupani, honourable Chief Minister and Shri Nitinbhai Patel, honourable Deputy Chief Minister of Gujarat. Swami Suviranandaji Maharaj, General Secretay, Ramkrishna Math will receive the documents on behalf of Belur Math from the hands of the trustees.
- Swami Nikhileswarananda announced in a Press Conference that The centre will be called Ramakrishna Math, Ahmedabad and will be a sub centre of Shri Ramakrishna Ashrama, Rajkot for the time being and will function from the present premises at Kalyan Tower, Vastrapur , efforts are on for acquiring a plot of land in and around Ahmedabad for the new centre. Shri Ramakrishna Ashram, Rajkot is a branch centre of worldwide spiritual and philanthropic twin organizations Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission founded in 1897 by world-famous philanthropist and spiritual leader Swami Vivekananda ─ the great disciple of Sri Ramakrishna. Sri Ramakrishna Ashram Rajkot is a branch of Ramakrishna Math offering its services to the people of Gujarat since 1927 through its various spiritual and cultural as well as educational and medical as well as relief and Rehabilitation and other welfare activities. The ideal is Service to Man is Service to God and is inspired by the life and the teachings of Sri Ramakrishna, maa Sharda Devi and Swami Vivekananda. At present there are about 200 branch centres of Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission spread all over the world having their Head Quarter at Belur Math in West Bengal.
- Sri Ramakrishna Vivekananda centre Ahmedabad is one of such centre started in 1988 which was so long affiliated with Gujarat Ramakrishna Vivekananda Bhava prachar parishad. Major activities were:

- Swami Vivekananda visited ahmedabad and stayed as a guest of Sri Lalshankar Umashankar Travadi in the year 1891. Travadi was sub judge of Ahmedabad at that time. Houses of Travadi is existing Amritlal pole and ellisbridge behind the town hall. The plan is under consideration to convert these two buildings s memorials of Swami Vivekananda.
